  Decorated with exotic natural beauty, Nepal is a Himalayan Kingdom of Asia.. The country boast the world’s highest peak, the Sagarmatha, Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of world peace and diverse geographical features, climates, natural heritages, different types of languages, castes, religions, ethnic groups, rich art and folk culture. Nepal is also rich in terms of its snow capped mountains, lush green hills, the inner Terai, the rivers and rivulets, lakes and panoramic water falls and the diverse cultures and traditions the people here follow. Moreover, Nepal is a home to plenty of rare birds, animals and insects.
Several temples and sites of archaeological and historical importance, which are enlisted in the World Heritage Sites, have made Nepal one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
The People of this land are peace loving, simple, laborious and brave. Despite severe economic backwardness, the people of Nepal are self-reliant and love to live so.
Civil Forum Nepal is one of the many social organisations dedicated towards the social and cultural development of the country. It is an organisation formed by the people from different walks of life with an objective to remain active in the field of social, cultural and publication services. It also aims at propagating and promoting original Nepalese arts and folk cultures throughout the world.

The organisation has successfully conducted several cultural programmes at different times featuring popular Nepali folk artists with an aim to spread the message of global peace, harmony and national unity.
The organisation, which is active day in and day out in the development and transformation of Nepali society and culture, has launched several social and cultural campaigns focusing on contemporary issues.

The organisation has established a tradition of awarding national and foreign personalities with the Civil International and National Golden Awards for their significant contribution towards promotion and development of Nepalese culture and society.

  • Civil Forum Nepal organised a National Citizen Felicitation Programme and Cultural Show at the Birendra International Convention Centre, Kathmandu, to mark the Forum’s anniversary.
    The programme was presided over by Nation Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere and the then Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon. Bharat Mohan Adhikary was the chief guest. Other distinguished guests of the programme included former minister and senior litterateur Mod Nath Prashrit, former minister and senior neuro-surgeon Dr Upendra Devkota and former minister and leader of the Nepali Congress Ananda Prasad Dhungana.
    On the occasion, chairman of the organisation Mr G. P. Dhungel had welcomed the guests and shed light on the objectives of the programme. Chief guest Adhikary felicitated different personalities by wrapping them with shawls and handing letters of appreciation.
    Those honoured in the programme included senior woman leader Honourable Sahana Pradhan. Special guest at the program where the then local development minister Yubaraj Gyawali. Dr Upendra Devkota and litterateur Mod Nath Prashrit. Honoured woman leader Pradhan addressed the august gathering thanked Civil Forum Nepal while expressing her views while other commended the contribution by the felicitated personalities in the social and cultural development of Nepal and its people.

  • Chief Guest Adhikary expressed his happiness over the tradition set by CFN of engaging itself in different social and cultural activities and honouring people from various walks of life, who have contribute to the upliftment of Nepali society and culture. He also said that everyone should support the efforts of CFN to preserve and promote Nepali culture.
    National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere delivered a valuable speech and declared the end of the programme. The formal programme was followed by a cultural programme.

  • CFN organised a National, International Civil Golden Awards Ceremony and Cultural Show at the Birendra International Convention Centre on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, then greatest festival of Nepal and honoured several personalities.

  • National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere presided over the programme while, the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was the chief guest. UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal and former minister and senior litterateur Mod Nath Prashrit were special guests of the function.

  • Chairman of the Civil Forum Nepal Mr G P Dhungel delivered a welcome speech after the formal programme was inaugurated.
    Several national and international personalities and organisations working for the uplift of Nepalese society and cultures were honoured by the chief guest Sher Bahadur Deuba by wrapping shawls around them and handing over appreciation letters.
    On the occasion, honoured person senior US doctor Mark Zimmerman and an international social worker residing in the US Mr Narayan Shrestha said the Award had encouraged them to further work for the service of the Nepali people and the society.
    Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal thanked the CFN for organising the programme to honour the people working for the betterment of the society, praised such a genuine effort and congratulated the honoured personalities and organisations.

  • Chairman of the programme National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere delivered the concluding address. The programme was followed by a cultural show which depicted the Nepalese cultures and traditions.

  • The CFN organised a Deusi and Bhailo programme to mark the festival of Dipawali and also had them recorded. The video was later aired from different electronic media. Popular Nepali folk artists had participated in the Duesi and Bhailo programme.
  • The CFN organised a cultural show entitled Ansu Puchhu Rastrako (Let’s wipe away the tears of the Nation), at the Birendra International Convention Centre on the occasion of the National Unity Day.

  • UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal was the chief guest of the programme and other guests included former Deputy Prime Minster and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikary, Former Speaker and Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel, chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati SJB Rana, Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Dipak Bohara and senior politicican Dhundi Raj Shastri.

  • Young Brahmin Boys recited peace mantras at the beginning of the programme in which several personalities contributing to the social and cultural development of Nepal and Nepales were honoured by the National Civil Golden Award.

  • Senior Human Rights activist Padma Ratna Tuladhar and former minister and litterateur Mod Nath Prashrit expressed their happiness for being felicitated during the programme. They said the award had encouraged them to continue their service to the people and work harder for establishing peace in the country. Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Pashupati SJB Rana and former speaker Ram Chandra Paudel said the programme entitled Ansu Puchhu Rastrako was very successful and timely towards encouraging people to work for peace and harmony in the country.

  • Chief Guest of the programme UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal congratulated the honoured personalities and adored the activities of the CFN and expressed his belief that the cultural show with a message of peace would press the warring parties to take the path of non-violence and peace. The formal programme was followed by a cultural show.

  • The CFN organised a cultural show with a message of peace and national unity entitled Sagarmatha Roirahechha ( Sagarmatha is weeping), at the Birendra International Convention Centre to mark the National Democracy Day. Chairman of the CFN Mr. G. P. Dhungel delivered a welcome speech at the programme graced as a chief guest by Right Honourable Chairman of the Raj Parishad, Parshu Narayan Chaudhary. Programme coordinator Dr Bhola Rijal had shed light on the relevance of the programme. National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere and Popular poet Janakabi Keshari Dharma Raj Thapa were special guests of the function. Chief Guest of the programme Chaudhary felicitated several international personalities by the International Civil Golden Award. Those receiving the awards included Briton social worker Lieutenant Colonel Nigel Anthony Collet, American educationist Robert E. Neaueschwander and American health worker Robert P. Andersson. They also wished for peace in Nepal and said the award encouraged them to continuously work for the welfare of the society.
    A special cultural programme was organised with the peace message after the formal programme was over.

  • The CFN organised a special cultural show with a message of peace and national unity entitled Uthou Nepali Jagau Nepali (Nepalis lets wake up), at the Birendra International Convention Centre to mark the Buddha Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. Chairman of the CFN Mr G P Dhungel delivered a welcome speech at the programme. A cultural program carrying peace message and patriotic music and dances was presented which was graced as a chief guest by the US resident international social worker and chairman of the Helping Hands International Mr Narayan Shrestha.
    The programme was participated in by popular personalities from different walks of life. National level artists had presented songs and dances with peace message. Chief Guest Narayan Shrestha openly praised the social and cultural activities of the CFN while addressing the programme.

  • The CFN with participation of the Helping Hands International, organised a special function in Kathmandu to honour the record holding Sagarmatha summiteers with the National Civil Golden Award. Those honoured included Appa Sherpa who has successfully scaled the Mt Sagarmatha for the 15th time, a couple who married atop Sagarmatha, Moni Mulepati and Pemba Dorje Sherpa, their helpers Kami Sherpa and Lhakpa Sherpa who have scaled Sagarmatha five times.Popular poet Janakabi Keshari Dharma Raj Thapa, senior artiste Madan Krishna Shrestha and international social worker Narayan Shrestha praised the deeds of the record holders and congratulated those honoured during the programme. They also expressed special thanks to the CFN for organising such a commendable programme. Chairman of the CFN G P Dhungel had delivered a welcome speech.

  • The CFN organised a special cultural show with a message of peace and national unity entitled Shanti Farkau, Rasta Bachau (Lets return peace and save the nation), at the Birendra International Convention Centre on the occasion of the Children’s Day. The programme was graced as a Chief Guest by Her Highness Princess Prerana Rajya Laxmi Devi Singh. Chief Guest Her Highness Princess Prerana inaugurated it by lighting lamp. Chairman of the CFN Mr G. P. Dhungel delivered a welcome speech and shed light on the relevance and objectives of the programme. Several songs and dances carrying messages of peace and harmony were presented in the first phase of the programme.

  • Chief Guest Her Highness Princess Prerana handed over awards to National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimere and popular singer Tara Devi and other distinguished persons were given the Citizen Golden Awards.

  • The CFN organised a special cultural show with a message of peace and national unity entitled Ajako Awashekata, Shanti ra Ekata (Peace and Unity the need of the hour) on the occasion of the National Unity Day. The then Speaker of the House of Representatives Tara Nath Ranabhat was the chief guest of the programme presided over by the chairman of the CFN Mr G. P Dhungel. Several distinguished persons had graced the function. Buddhist monks had recited peace message to declare open the programme in which the CFN chairman Mr G. P Dhungel delivered a welcome speech. Several national level artists presented comedies and songs and dances to entertain and deliver a message of peace and harmony to the participants
    .
  • Several national and foreign citizens were awarded with National International Civil Golden Award during the function. Those honoured with the International Civil Golden Awards were His Excellency Ambassador of Russia to Nepal, Andrey Leonidovich Trofimov, His Excellency Ambassador of Mynmar to Nepal, Aung Khin Soe, His Excellency Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Dan Stav, representative Counseller Kikkan Haugen on behalf of His Excellency Ambassador of Norway to Nepal and His Excellency Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka. Japanese international social worker Mrs Aiko Kondo was also honoured on the occasion.

  • Those receiving the National Civil Golden Award were senior litterateur and critic Professor Dr Basudev Tripathi and senior diplomat Bishnu Hari Nepal.
  • On behalf of the honoured personalities, His Excellency Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka, said that the award had encouraged them to work for the benefit and welfare of Nepal and Nepalese and expressed gratitude to the CFN for honouring them with the awards. Chief Guest then Speaker Taranath Ranabhat congratulated the honoured personalities and addressed the function.

  • The CFN felicitated revered Sister Nirmala, the successor of Mother Teresa at the Missionaries of Charities, at a programme organised at the Capital. Former Prime Minister and senior litterateur Lokendra Bahadur Chand was the chief guest of the felicitation programme. CFN chairman Mr G P Dhungel delivered a welcome speech and the commendation letter handed over to Sister Nirmala was read out during the function. After the Chief Guest honoured revered Sister Nirmala by wrapping her in a shawl and handing over a appreciation letter, other participants of the programme, who included distinguished people from different walks of life, handed over bunches of flowers to Sister Nirmala as a token of respect. On the occasion, Sister Nirmala expressed gratitude towards the CFN and her homeland country Nepal and prayed for peace and prosperity and end of violence in Nepal.

  • Chief Guest Lokendra Bahadur Chand had shed light on the personality of Sister Nirmala and the organisation she heads and the social works done by the Missionaries of Charity. The formal programme was followed by a cultural show.

  • The CFN organised a programme at the Royal Nepal Academy to pay tribute to late singer Tara Devi, popularly known as melody queen, who received the lifetime achievement award given by the CFN, on the 13th day of her demise. The chief guest of the programme was senior singer and musician Koili Devi and presided over by CFN chairman Mr G. P Dhungel. Several musicians and singers and other personalities had attended the condolence meeting in which lyricist Ratna Samsher Thapa shed light on the personality and contribution of late Tara Devi whereas a number of singers presented songs of Tara Devi.

  • Civil Forum Nepal felicitated James Ford, senior correspondent of noted American news channel, Channel Live, Fox Television with a token of love. On the occasion, an interaction on the role of media during conflict situation was also organised. Mr G P Dhungel, president of the Forum welcomed the participants of the interaction. Former president of the Raj Parishad Standing Committee Dr. Keshar Jung Raymajhi was the chief guest. James Ford, while delivering his speech, shed light on the duty as well as role of journalists. He spoke about his organisation also. He expressed gratitude to the CFN. Noted American expert Prof Dr Theoder Ricardi Junior and social worker Rotarian Senan Dorje also addressed the function from the chair of special invitee.
    Artistes presented songs and dances at the end of the function. CFN also took special interview with Ford.

  • Civil Forum Nepal organised a cultural show with the help of PATA Nepal and SIA Nepal at the Birendra International Conference Centre to raise fund for the treatment of a 19-year old cancer-victim Deepak Karki.

    Chief Guest Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire, special guest popular poet Janakabi Keshari Dharmaraj Thapa and president of CFN Mr G. P Dhungel expressed their views on the occasion.
  • After the restoration of democracy in Nepal Civil Forum Nepal ,considering the nation's
    current situation had oragnized special cultural programme "sustainable development and peace,
    New Nepal and for Nepali" .TYhe program was attended by national and international emirant person with participation of Nepal's popular artists .The chief guest in the program was the speaker of the house of Representatinve Honourable Subhaa Nemwang and special guests were Dy. Prime Minister Honourable Bharat Mohan Adhikari,Vice President of Jana Morcha Honourable Lila Mani Pokharel ,joint leftist leader of Male Secretary general Honorable C.P Mainali ,Nepali Congress Leader Mr. Shaker Panday, Popular artist Jana kabhi Keshari Dharma Raj Thapa, Nepal Govt 's special Secretary Dr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire ,Auditor General Mr. Suhsil Sharma Dhungel along with other 1500 distinguished persons.In the program Nepal's popular aertists gave presentaion of their own cultural program.Nepali national and foreign national providing siginficant contribution to Nepalese society of national and international life style were felicitated with nationa land international civil Golden Award 2007. On the progream welcome speech was given by the president of civil forum Nepal Mr. G.P Dhungel .

  • Civil Forum Nepal ,with an objective of preserving Nepal's original art ,culture and their promotion had organized valley wide dance competetion 2007 and best dancers First,Second and third were awarded with a sum of Rs. 15,000,Rs. 10,000, and Rs. 7000 respectively with special trophy .The chief guest was Interim Management Parliament Speaker of House of Representative Honourable Subhas Chandra Nemwang while welcome speech was ginven by the dpresident of civel forurm Nepal Mr. G.P Dhungel. In the program valley's well known 15 teams participated . To make the program more entertaining Nepal's popular singer and singress gave their presentation in capacity of guests .In the program some ............... were felicitated

  • Civil Forum Nepal with participation of emiment National and international personatlities had orgtanized a program of interantional standard " wipe out exiled tears" of Bhutanese refugee living in Nepal for the last 17/18 years .Popular poets and artists had presented their program .The program was held at International convetion Hall at Baneshowor .The Chief guest were President and former Prime Minister Honourable Sher Bahadur Deuba of Nepali Congress (Democratic) and Nepal Communist Party (UML ) Secretary General Honourable Madhav Kumar Nepal. In the program the Tourism and civil aviation minister Honourable Pradeep Gyawali was present .Civil Forum Nepal's president G.P Dhungel had given welcome speech. In the said program ........................... were felicitated.

  • On the eve of New Year 2064 Civil Forum Nepal ,considering Nepal's present situation had oraganized a program at Russian Culture Center Kathmandu Reception entitled "whether Himal, Hill or Terai No one is alien" cultural program .The Tourism and civil Aviation MInister Honourable Pradeep Gyawali was the chief guest with presence of distinguished personalities of different field to give message of peace, goodwill and unity among Nepalese ,Nepal's popular artists gave message oriented presentaion .In the programme ........................................

  • Civil Forum Nepal ,in the same head arrange running program National Marathon runner Mr. Ratna Tuladhar ran 90 Km. from Birtamod of jhapa district to Hill district Ilam Headquarter Civil Forum Nepal in it's Kathamandu office had sent him off with logo flag of civil Fourm Nepal. He was sent off from Jahapa by that district's chif administrative officer Mr. Jana Mukunda khanal .

  • In presence of 5/6 thousand personalities ilam's chief District Administrative officer and Ilam's jouranlism Federation welcomed and thus program ended.
    With an objective of promoting and publicising original Nepalese art and cultures in the international level, the CFN will organise various cultural programmes. It aims to spread the message of Buddha, message of unity and the world peace from the country of Mt Everest.
  • It will invite cultural teams and representatives from friendly countries to Nepal and organise various programmes so that both the countries will benefit from such cultural exchange. The organisation also believes that such people-to-people relations as well as art and cultural relations will help bolster the relationships between the countries.

  • The organisation is preparing to publish a special book ‘Glorious Gems of National and International life’ to make the contribution of the awardees (by this forum) long lasting.
    The book will be a collection of these personalities and their institutional backdrop.
    The book will be launched at a special programme in the presence of national and international personalities.
  • The forum has been organising seminars and interactions with the participation of ordinary people, personalities from different walks of life and advisers of the forum before taking any decision, according to the objectives of the forum. The forum has also been organising tea-parties to exchange wishes among national and international citizens on the occasion of national and international festivals.

  • The CFN expresses it gratitude to the national and international organisations, people from different walks of life and all those who offered their well-wishes and support to the various programmes the forum conducted from the very beginning of its establishment. We expect their well-wishes and support for ever.
